With over 500 truly unusual and eye-popping woods, this process is a pure joy.  Every stock of fine wood has its own story.  The latest is very old Hickory that was used to build an 1852 Player Piano.  It is what I expected in color and grain and steeped in history.  I can only imagine how many saloons and gambling parlours it has been in.  The player piano is now in pieces, but it will live on in the form of many hundreds of custom writing instruments. 

Many years ago, I acquired a small chunck of wood that was buried in the mud and sand of a North America river ever since Nero was in charge of Rome.  I have another chunck of wood that came from a tree that lived during the time of Jesus.  If only it could talk!

We have many, many woods that are special to us.  They are not all very old or steeped in history, but they all have a history.  We try to know the story behind each and every piece.  Some are domestic woods that are available at your local Lowes or Home Depot.  Some I rescued from the wood burning stack---simply because Mother Nature saw fit to make it exceptional.  Other woods are exotic woods from around the world.----all beautiful & expensive.  Our RARE wood selection is second to none.  You have to see them in person in order to really appreciate their exceptionalism.  Why don't you call and come by and let me show you?
